Manufacturing Career Pathways Network

Manufacturing Career Pathways Network

Manufacturing Career Pathways Network is a nationwide initiative designed to optimize the manufacturing jobs and workforce system by advancing demand-driven, competency-based career pathways. By taking a network-based approach, we are building a community of organizations critical to making change in the workforce system to strengthen the new and incumbent manufacturing workers.

WHY MCPN?

The manufacturing industry is overwhelmed with an abundance of workforce initiatives, yet there are many islands of excellence in manufacturing talent development. Rather than creating “another initiative” that appears to compete with existing initiatives, Hope Street Group is creating a network that:

  • Elevates and scales leading manufacturers’ best practices and programs to strengthen the workforce
  • Optimizes the manufacturing jobs system by advancing demand-driven, competency-based practices
  • Weaves together the excellent work of employers via a series of curated workshops and connectivity events to advance leading practices

The Network will build qualified talent pipelines for entry and middle skill jobs at manufacturing businesses, resulting in reduced job vacancies and decreased first-year turnover by increasing the quality and diversity of employees. Demand-driven methodologies ensure:

Businesses can clearly articulate competencies needed for in-demand positions

Educators and training providers know the competencies valued by employers and can better align their curricula to meet those needs

Individuals know the skills they need to succeed in a manufacturing career, creating access to long-term economic security
