Before launching The Vistria Group, a private investment firm focused on education, healthcare, and financial services industries, Tony was Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education. In this role, he oversaw day-to-day operations for a broad range of functions spanning early childhood through postsecondary education, including implementation of ~$100 billion in one-time education program funding as part of the economic stimulus package.
Prior, Tony was a Director with Silver Lake, a global leader in technology investing. He was also a Partner at McKinsey & Company, focusing on healthcare and technology. He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
