Andy Slavitt is chief executive officer of Ingenix, a leading health information and technology company with over 8,000 people in over 45 countries worldwide and one of six reporting subsidiaries of UnitedHealth Group.  Ingenix conducts important work in drug development, clinical and administrative improvement, and consumer access for more than 250,000 clients in the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology, hospitals and physicians, health plans, governments and major employers.

Before joining Ingenix in 2005 as chief operating officer, Slavitt served as chief executive officer of the consumer solutions business of UnitedHealth Group. He was responsible for leading consumer-driven health care, consumer portal development and other initiatives to serve consumers and the uninsured.

Previously, Slavitt was founder and chief executive officer of HealthAllies, one of the first consumer health care benefits companies, which was acquired by UnitedHealth Group in 2003. Prior to founding HealthAllies, Slavitt served as chief operating officer and director of Paula Financial, an employee benefits insurance company and one of the largest benefits distributors. Slavitt also worked as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company and as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs.

Slavitt is a magna cum laude graduate of the Wharton School and the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, and an honors graduate of the Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Slavitt is a member of the Board of Directors for the Guthrie Theatre, Capella University and Jewish Community Action in Minneapolis.   He also serves on the Boards of the Hope Street Group, a Washington, D.C.-based public policy organization, and the Center for Affordable Quality Health Care in Washington, D.C.  He lives in Edina, MN with his wife, Lana, and their two children, Caleb and Zachary.
