Arian joined the Hope Street Group in July 2007 and is based in Paris, France. As Program Associate, she is focusing her efforts on policy areas including trade, education and savings, while contributing to the development of HSG's Economic Opportunity Index.

Arian has worked both in the private and public sectors, most recently as a consultant at UNESCO in Paris, where she launched and managed the Creative Cities Network. Arian has published and spoken widely about the creative industries as a vector for development, advocating for the advancement of cultural statistics and the promotion of public-private partnerships. Prior to this, Arian was an investment banking analyst at Merrill Lynch, where she worked in media and global communications, completing one of the largest private placements at the time.

Arian has a Masters in Public Administration in International Development from the JFK School of Government at Harvard University, and she completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University in economics and German studies, where she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study the German banking system under the European Monetary Union.
