Healthy ChicagoOn March 19, 2015, the Chicago Department of Public Health, Hope Street Group and Matter convened an expert group of 65 change agents and leaders specific to food insecurity and economic opportunity. This event was derived as a direct output of Hope Street Group’s Annual Colloquium and a project with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, focused on how to effectively engage local stakeholders in working together to integrate effective, community-level initiatives and technologies—a strategy that could offer transformative change on the issue, which is desperately needed in the city of Chicago. This synthesis includes notable outcomes from the discussion, the necessary components, and the recommendations that the group ask the government, private and philanthropic sectors to consider in making their decisions and investments on issues that relate to this topic.
